About

My career has been shaped by several important mentors. Some very good, some - not so much, but they all helped me develop and grow both personally and professionally. I became a mentor by joining the mentor mentee programme as part of the MotherNet project that I have the privilege to coordinate.

I am affiliated to the Faculty of Philology where I am Head of the Department of French Philology. However, I did my BA in English Philology and multilingualism is one of my big interests. Thus, living and working in, through, and across several languages and and cultural spaces is something I know well.

In the context of MotherNet, I have mentored PhD students who are literally finding their way professionally. Academia is not the only area I've worked in and I know that work and career do not always overlap. I've studied, lived and worked in 5 different countries and know what it's like to craft an international career.

Currently I divide my time between lecturing, research and administrative responsibilities. As a researcher I develop and carry out my own research projects, build research teams, coordinate a large research network, and evaluate my colleagues' research projects.

I would thus be very happy to share my experience with younger colleagues.
